Demon Training for Subaru Natsuki

The next day.

The sun had only just risen.

Hane woke Subaru Natsuki, who was still sleeping in, with a heavy punch. A scream loud enough to shake the heavens rang through the quiet manor.

"Ow, ow, ow! Master, why are you in my room so early instead of sleeping?"

Subaru Natsuki clutched the huge lump on his head and asked in confusion.

"The early hours are the best time to train, young man. Get out of bed and get ready. I want you washed and dressed in ten minutes!"

Hane's stern tone made Subaru Natsuki's heart skip. He jumped out of bed and hurried to dress.

By now, he knew what his master was like. Hane meant every word he said. If Subaru failed to meet his demand within ten minutes, he would be in for a brutal time.

Besides, this was his first day of training. He had been looking forward to it for ages!

In a flash, Subaru Natsuki had dressed and was standing straight in front of him.

"Not bad! You move quickly enough. We can't waste the morning. It's six o'clock, so let's start with a warm-up: ten laps around the manor. Then we'll move on to the next step!"

Subaru Natsuki looked out the window at the sprawling grounds and swallowed. The manor was roughly twice the size of his old school's sports field. Ten laps? That would kill him—and it was only the warm-up.

"Master, starting at that intensity might be more than your disciple can handle!"

Subaru Natsuki tried desperately to reason with him.

Hane's face darkened.

"Which of us is the master, you or me?"

A chill ran through Subaru Natsuki. He dared say no more and rushed out of the room to start running.

As the sun climbed higher, the
