To Maya Hansen's surprise, Tony showed no shame or remorse whatsoever.

She couldn't help asking, "Tony, don't you feel even a little ashamed?"

Tony merely glanced at her sideways, lifted his chin, and said arrogantly, "Ashamed? Never."

Maya Hansen accused him angrily, "You left a brilliant young scholar waiting on a rooftop all night!"

"Afterward, Aldrich Killian fell seriously ill. He was already in poor health, and he nearly died!"

"Wow." Tony spread his hands and said sympathetically, "I sincerely hope Mr. Aldrich Killian recovers."

"If he has a grievance, Stark Industries can pay all his medical expenses. He'll need to provide an itemized hospital receipt, of course."

Maya Hansen sprang to her feet and pointed at Tony's nose. "Tony Stark, you're a cold-blooded bastard!"

Tony crossed his legs, the corner of his mouth lifting. "You're not the first person to say that about me, Ms. Maya."

Maya Hansen's chest heaved with anger. She glared at Tony in disgust and said through gritted teeth, "Tony Stark! I fucking regret coming to see you!"

"You deserve to be blown to pieces by the people Aldrich Killian sent!"

With that, she turned to leave.

But Tony's expression turned cold the instant he heard her words.
