With a column of white light descending, Ajak and Ikaris were brought back to the spaceship.
The two of them arrived at the public lounge.
Ajak pulled out a stool and sat down, asking Ikaris with a smile, "Alright, there's no one else here. Can you tell me now?"
Ikaris leaned against the edge of the table, his gaze toward Ajak turning cold.
"Ajak, it has been centuries. You should have had enough of your ridiculous 'humanitarian concern'."
Ajak's smiling face instantly froze. She abruptly clenched her fists, her tone turning heavy and firm.
"Ikaris, we were created to protect humans, not to become executioners."
Ikaris wore a sneer, his voice as chilling as ice picks.
"Protect humans? Ajak, the birth of a Celestial is a cosmic necessity. Are you seriously planning to betray our mission for those greedy, filthy humans?!"
Ajak suddenly stood up, facing Ikaris directly.
"The Emergence will destroy this planet, destroying countless humans and lives! Ikaris, we have survived on this planet for thousands of years. In the past, we protected them, guided them. They... they are just innocent mortals!"
"Innocent? Mortals?" Ikaris's eyes couldn't help but burst with golden energy.
"This beautiful blue planet has long been defiled by humans with wars, diseases, and greed!"
A flash of deep disgust crossed his face as he said firmly, "The orders of the Celestials are absolutely correct. The existence value of puny humans is far lower than the mission of a Celestial's birth!"
Ajak looked at the hardline Ikaris, a trace of complex emotion flitting across her face.
She took a deep breath and said, "Calm down, Ikaris! Our argument right now is meaningless. It is not yet time for the Emergence; we need to think things through properly with each other."
A flash of disappointment
