Rong Mo nodded, then shook his head.
Rong Xi smiled. "From the records, it can be seen that the more perfect the curvature of a wing's cross-section, the stronger its flight capability, correct?"
Seeing the youth nod seriously, Rong Xi continued, "If you understand how wind comes into being, you will understand the principles behind a flying model."
Qin Ke and Guo Yao both listened quietly, yet his words stumped them.
How did wind come into being? No one knew.
Longing filled Rong Mo's eyes. He stared straight at Rong Xi, as though begging him to clear away his confusion.
"Come with me."
Rong Xi beckoned with a smile. Seeing Guo Yao hesitate, afraid to enter, he said gently, "You too."
The four entered the research room together. Rong Xi took out a Glass vessel, whose shape was quite peculiar.
It had no lid. There was a round hole in both its base and one side wall, each opening about the length of a thumb.
He lit a candle, set it on the table, and asked, "Is the flame moving at all?"
The doors and windows of the research room were all shut, and there was no wind inside. Naturally, the flame burned straight upward.
All three shook their heads.
Rong Xi smiled faintly, then covered the candle with the Glass vessel, its bottom hole facing upward. He took an iron tube as a chimney and connected it vertically to the hole, while the candle flame aligned perfectly beneath it.
"Watch the flame carefully," Rong Xi instructed. The three immediately fixed their eyes on it, scarcely daring to blink.
At this time, the hole in the side wall was on the right, while the candle sat slightly to the left.
A moment later, Guo Yao's eyes lit up. "It moved!"
