Mangekyō Sharingan

More than ten black shadows rapidly approached from afar, and Hayato and Miao's expressions changed drastically. "Kirigakure's reinforcements arrived so quickly!!!!"

A gloomy look flashed across Hayato's pale face. The scene before him had already begun to blur, while waves of stabbing pain radiated from his eye sockets. "Damn it!!" He could not help reaching up to cover his eyes.

"Great, reinforcements have finally arrived!!!" Seeing those black shadows, the two Anbu were overjoyed. Then they turned their vicious gazes on the utterly exhausted Hayato and Miao.

After several flickers, the dozen or so figures had arrived before the two Anbu. They were all dressed in standard Kirigakure Anbu attire, with sinister masks on their faces that gave off an exceedingly eerie feeling. The air itself seemed to carry an extra trace of bloodlust.

Hayato leaped in front of Miao, shielding him behind his back. "Father!!!" Miao looked worriedly at his father's swaying body and called out in a low voice.

"It's fine, just the aftereffects of overusing the Sharingan." Hayato panted heavily and gave Miao's worried face a faint smile.

"The aftereffects of overusing the Sharingan?" Miao froze slightly, recalling some of the secrets his father had told him about the Sharingan.

"What happened to you two!!! How did you end up in such a miserable state!!" The leader among the more than ten Anbu coldly addressed the two battered Anbu.

"Captain!!! Kill them quickly! They're from Konoha's Uchiha Clan!!! They must be spies Konoha sent into the Water Country! Both of them possess the Sharingan! The rest of our squad died at their hands!" One of the injured Anbu shouted at the Anbu Captain, his words filled with hatred.

"Konoha Ninja? Uchiha!?" The Anbu Captain was startled upon hearing this, but greed soon flashed through his eyes. If they could obtain the Uchiha Clan's Sharingan, it would be an incomparably precious treasure for Kirigakure. Just like when Kirigakure had unexpectedly acquired a Byakugan from the Konoha Hyuga Clan on the battlefield, the Ninja possessing that Byakugan had made enormous contributions to Kirigakure during the war and become one of its pillars. Unfortunately, that Kirigakure Ninja seemed to have betrayed the village and joined the Rebel Army.

"Uchiha!!!" The remaining Kirigakure Anbu were greatly shocked. Why would members of the Uchiha Clan be in the Water Country!? Then they seemed to think of something, and the way they looked at the father and son, Miao and Hayato, became greedy. Obtaining these two men's Sharingan would be a tremendous achievement, and Lord Mizukage would surely reward them handsomely.

Sensing the Anbu's gazes, Hayato let out a slight sigh. Then determination flashed in his eyes as he made up his mind. I probably won't be able to leave here alive today, but even if I die, I have to let Miao escape!!!

"Try to capture them alive!!! If you cannot, killing them is acceptable, but most importantly, do not let them destroy their own eyes!! Understood!?" the Anbu Captain said coldly.

"Understood!!!" The dozen or so masked Anbu replied. They then drew the Tachi from their backs one after another and stared coldly at Hayato and Miao.

"Miao, leave first!! I'll catch up with you as soon as I deal with them!!!" Hayato said urgently.

"I'm not leaving!!! We leave together or not at all!!!" Miao stared at Hayato resolutely, leaving no room for negotiation in his tone. "Sigh!!" Hayato sighed. He knew Miao's personality well enough to know that he would never flee at a time like this. He looked at Miao lovingly, then slowly said, "There are many things I still wanted to tell you, but it seems there's no longer time."

Hearing Hayato's words, Miao felt a bad premonition rise in his heart, and his expression immediately changed. But before he could say anything, Hayato interrupted him. Hayato gazed deeply at Miao, as if he wanted to remember his appearance forever, then slowly said, "This is the last lesson I will teach you, and the last thing I can do for my son as his father. Watch carefully!! The Uchiha Clan's True Power!!!"

"The Uchiha Clan's True Power!? Could it be...!!!" Miao's expression changed instantly. He abruptly activated his Sharingan and could clearly see the small amount of Chakra remaining in Hayato's body begin to boil. Hayato's Aura gradually changed, his scarlet Sharingan emerged, and the Three-Tomoe within his eyes began spinning rapidly.

"Attack!!!!!" the Anbu Captain roared, and the dozen or so Anbu charged like lightning toward Hayato, who stood proudly in the distance.

Facing the charging Anbu, Hayato's expression did not change in the slightest. The Three-Tomoe in his scarlet Sharingan spun faster and faster, then slowly connected before Miao's shocked eyes, forming an extremely bizarre pattern.

It was a triangular pattern. The three Tomoe formed an equilateral triangle within his eye sockets, with all three corners connected to the edges of his eye sockets. A pillar-like shape extended from each of the triangle's three sides, likewise connecting to the edges of his eye sockets. It resembled Uchiha Madara's Mangekyō Sharingan somewhat, but upon closer inspection, it was vastly different.

"So this is the Mangekyō Sharingan!!!! As expected, Father was also a member of the Uchiha Clan who had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan? No wonder he said using the Sharingan caused such enormous side effects, and that his eyes were nearly blind!!!" Miao stared blankly at the Mangekyō Sharingan in his father's eyes, the shock in his heart beyond measure. His own eyes trembled slightly as well, and even his Dojutsu Power was faintly suppressed—despite Hayato not even targeting him.

"What is that!!!?" The charging Anbu holding Tachi immediately changed expressions. Naturally, they had also seen the change in Hayato's Sharingan, but they did not know of the Mangekyō Sharingan's existence. They only felt an ominous sensation slowly rise within them. But regardless of what it was, they were already about to reach Hayato. As long as they obtained those eyes, they would have rendered great merit.

"Come, let me show you the Uchiha Clan's True Power!!!" Hayato said coldly as his pupils abruptly widened.
