At that moment, the Blond Young Man seemed to notice Miao as well. Seeing Miao save the little girl, he shouted at Miao furiously, "Who the hell are you?! Why are you ruining my art?!"
"And who are you? Why are you attacking this place?! You even spared no Ordinary People!" Miao said coldly as he looked at the Young Man in the Air.
"Me? My name is Deidara, and I'm an artist! As for the reason, there is no reason. I merely want to show my art to the world," Deidara said proudly, his head held high.
"Art?" Miao frowned slightly. Is something wrong with this guy's head? If he keeps causing destruction and attacking civilians without reason, the major nations will sooner or later put out a warrant for him. But that Forehead Protector of his is... Iwagakure. Is he a Hidden Stone Ninja?
"Hey! Who the hell are you?! You don't look like a Ninja Village ninja. You're a Rogue Ninja, right? Wearing a mask too—you really are a suspicious freak!" Deidara said, dismissing Miao with a glance.
"If you attack a civilian town without cause, the major nations will put out a warrant for you, even if you are an Iwagakure ninja," Miao said flatly.
"So what if those major nations put out a warrant for me? I'll show them what true art is! And as for Iwagakure, I stopped wanting to stay there long ago. Seeing that Old Man's sour face every day makes me sick! That place is nothing but a shackle to me, stifling my passion and creativity! Mm," Deidara said indifferently.
This guy... Miao felt rather helpless. He had never seen such an oddball before. A ninja launching large-scale attacks on Ordinary People during peacetime was equivalent to destroying the balance between ninjas and civilians. No country would tolerate that. Miao did not even dare imagine how terrifying it would be if the Five Great Nations devoted themselves to hunting someone down. Without the backing of an organization, one would barely be able to move an inch—unless their goal from the start was to make enemies of the Five Great Nations. But at least Miao had never heard of any organization bold enough to do that.
"But then again, you must be amazed by my art too, right? I bet beneath that mask of yours is an utterly stunned expression," Deidara said excitedly, as though he had thought of something else.
"Your Ninjutsu is indeed quite impressive, but what do you gain by attacking these civilians? Any ninja can easily kill these Ordinary People. What you're doing proves nothing; it's merely self-satisfaction. Don't you call yourself an artist? Artists should have standards, shouldn't they? Just as a famous artist would dismiss an ordinary work with a glance, attacking these civilians cannot prove your art," Miao said slowly. He knew that with this fellow's personality, he could only guide him step by step. He could not simply say something like, I won't let you keep attacking this place.
Although Miao did not consider himself a good person, he still could not bring himself to slaughter ordinary civilians for no reason. He could not control what happened elsewhere, but since this was happening right before his eyes, he could not stand by and do nothing.
Hearing Miao's words, Deidara fell into deep thought. "Standards, class?" he muttered repeatedly. It seemed that he had thought of something, and the light in his eyes grew brighter and brighter.
Deidara slammed his fist into his palm, seeming to have figured something out. His eyes shone brighter as he said excitedly, "You're right! My art is high-class and high-standard, not something ordinary people can appreciate! If just anyone could appreciate my art, wouldn't my art become ordinary?!"
"Heh." Miao chuckled softly as he watched Deidara. He's an interesting guy. His mind really is simple.
But Deidara's next words instantly changed Miao's expression. He said, "You're pretty good. I'm quite satisfied with your advice about my art. And judging by the way you look, you're a Rogue Ninja, right? You barely qualify, so I'll let you witness my art for free!!"
"What?!" Miao's expression changed drastically. He immediately used the Body Flicker Technique and rushed toward the outskirts of town. Fortunately, only part of the town had been destroyed so far. If Deidara continued using his Ninjutsu, the entire town would be wiped out.
"What do you mean by that?! I'm specially letting you admire my art—you should feel honored! Why are you running?! Don't run!!!" Deidara cursed furiously, hopping in place. The White Giant Bird beneath his feet immediately moved, swiftly chasing after Miao.
Miao was incredibly fast, his body becoming a Black Shadow as he darted through the Woods. But Deidara was not slow either, and since he was flying, the giant bird beneath his feet gradually closed in on Miao.
"Hmph!" Miao snorted and accelerated again. "Damn it!" Deidara cursed, urging the White Giant Bird onward, though this also increased his Chakra consumption.
After passing through layer upon layer of Woods, Miao emerged into an open clearing and stopped. He stood quietly on the grass, seemingly waiting for Deidara.
At last, Deidara's White Giant Bird arrived as well. Its enormous wings flapped lightly as it hovered above the grass. Deidara laughed loudly. "Let's see where you can run now! Now you can admire my art for free! Mm."
"Oh? If you want to use your art to compete with my Ninjutsu, just say so. Why beat around the bush?" Miao said calmly.
"You're right. Your words have enlightened me and elevated my art. I should find opponents with standards to prove the greatness of my art. And you don't look very weak, so I'll grant you the privilege of being the first to witness my art!!!" Deidara said excitedly.
