Ritsuka Fujimaru and the others rushed from their rooms to the control room. Red warning lights flashed like dancing flames, only settling down several minutes later.
Sion's fingers flew across the keys. A long stream of diagnostic data and surveillance footage appeared on the main screen.
"The Worldline occupied by the Ten Thousand Worlds Devourers is connecting to numerous other Worldlines. That World Tree's roots are trying to cross the barriers between worlds!"
"Analysis failed. Its underlying nature isn't an elemental structure."
"A dimensional storm cannot form. What power is preventing the Worldline from being judged?"
Behind the data lay a horrifying conclusion.
Ordinarily, such a Worldline would have been a kind of Lostbelt, judged by the Counter Force once it formed. But some immense power had broken through the restrictions and rooted that discarded Worldline in the course of Proper Human History.
"It seems they've begun to act." Lord El-Melloi II looked calm, unsurprised. "Even the kings of the Lostbelts couldn't do this, could they? No offense. I meant nothing by it."
Several Lostbelt kings nearby glanced his way but said nothing.
As Lord El-Melloi II had said, they could create Lostbelts and Singularities to interfere further with Proper Human History. But that was fundamentally different from forming a Lostbelt with a Fantasy Tree.
It was like a branch growing crooked from a trunk, prompting its owner to prune it so a new branch could grow.
The Fantasy Tree's function was to reset
