Chaotic Execution Ceremony

The next day, Ronan's execution ceremony began on schedule. The square where the execution would take place was packed with citizens who had come to watch.

As for how many of those citizens were Nova Corps agents or troublemakers, no one knew.

On top of a building near the square, Star-Lord looked down at the densely packed crowd below, then turned to Rocket beside him. "We're staying here? If a fight breaks out later, can we really make it over in time?"

Rocket held a pair of binoculars and answered casually, "Don't worry. Once the ceremony starts, the square will be sealed inside an energy shield, and the spectators will all be kept outside."

Then Rocket seemed to recall something amusing. "And if anyone down there wants to break through the energy shield to rescue someone, high-yield explosives are the most effective method."

High-yield explosives?

Star-Lord looked at the packed crowd below and swallowed.

"Should we warn them? Otherwise, this place could turn into hell later."

"If you dare go down there and shout, 'Watch out for explosives,' the Nova Empire's agents will pin you to the ground immediately. And the people in the crowd with bad intentions will set off the explosives right away and blast you into the sky. Do you still want to warn them?"

Inside another building near the square, Lu Qi sat in the luxurious suite the Nova Empire had prepared for him. Before him was a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the execution square.
