Ye Zexi was already stuffed, so naturally he could not drink the bowl of ginger tea. Yet, for once, he did not try to negotiate with He Jinyun. Crouching there with the bowl, he took small sips and barely managed to finish it all.
Afterward, Ye Zexi stood up and voluntarily put the dishes into the dishwasher to be cleaned.
Throughout it all, He Jinyun quietly watched Ye Zexi bustle about from the side.
Ye Zexi moved quickly. Once he was done tidying up, he walked over to He Jinyun, took his hand, and said softly, "I've cleaned everything up, and it's getting late. Shall we go home now?"
It was not that Ye Zexi did not want to rest here. Mainly, he had considered that many of their daily necessities had been moved to his home, so staying at the neighboring villa would naturally be more convenient.
This time, He Jinyun did not refuse. He simply nodded lightly in agreement.
The corners of Ye Zexi's lips curved up before he could stop them. He leaned over and kissed the corner of He Jinyun's mouth, then pulled him toward the door. "Then let's hurry home!"
He Jinyun let Ye Zexi lead him outside. As they passed the sofa, he picked up Ye Zexi's clothes from it and handed them over. "Put them on."
Ye Zexi had initially wanted to say it was only a few steps away, but the moment he looked up and saw the stern look in He Jinyun's eyes, he fell silent and obediently got dressed.
As he dressed, Ye Zexi could not help wondering whether He Jinyun had seen him run next door without clothes when he had gone to fetch the vegetables earlier.
The thought made Ye Zexi's heart ache, yet also fill with warmth.
