A Meteor

11:50 p.m.

Yu Xian and Blue Bird sat together inside a bubble, gazing at the emerald mountain range in the distance.

There were still ten minutes before the operation began. Both had already prepared for battle; now it all depended on how General Zhao Yi would open things up.

"Blue Bird, what is General Zhao's ability?" Yu Xian asked curiously.

Blue Bird shook her head. "I don't know. The abilities of higher-ups at Dragon Level and above are classified. Even if someone knows, they can't talk about them."

Then she recalled something amusing and could not help but laugh.

Looking into the distance, she said, "I heard that long ago, powerful people from the island nation especially loved showing off their abilities in battle. They would even thoughtfully explain the principles behind their powers to their opponents. Later, other countries specifically studied ways to counter them, and a huge number of superhumans died before they finally learned not to casually reveal their intelligence."

Yu Xian's expression turned strange after hearing that, and he finally burst out laughing.

That really was rather funny.

As they chatted and laughed, the clock finally struck twelve.

Suddenly, both of them noticed someone in the sky. The person stood even higher in the air, and though his body was not particularly imposing, he radiated an indescribable aura.

"It's finally begun," Blue Bird murmured as she looked at the towering figure.

"Mm. Watch carefully. What comes next is not something you get to see often," Blue Bird said seriously with a nod.

In the distant sky, Zhao Yi stood atop an atom, silently observing the mountains below. His ability was extremely unusual, called "Reference Point Between the Micro and Macro."

Just as he could stand on an atom, he could also grant small objects the properties of large ones, or give large objects the properties of small ones.

In essence, he could not truly enlarge or shrink objects, but in practice, he could grant them relatively large or relatively small properties.

"A meteor!"

With a light flick of his finger, a speck of dust in the air fell toward the ground.

They were actually extremely far away. The only reason they could see General Zhao Yi at all was because both of their eyesight was absurdly powerful.

After the first wave of impact ended, the second and third waves followed in rapid succession.

In just half an hour, the terrain within the entire sealed-off area had fundamentally changed. Billowing black smoke rose into the sky, the ground was a complete mess, and boiling magma filled the uneven terrain.

Without a doubt, once the magma cooled and a torrential rain fell, an enormous lake would be born here.

Although Yu Xian had been mentally prepared, the exaggerated scene before him still left him dumbfounded.

He had not even seen how Zhao Yi attacked and could not make sense of General Zhao Yi's ability at all. Judging by the degree of the ground's collapse, something should have struck the earth, yet he had noticed nothing.

Below them, many wild animals were fleeing madly. They had not been within Zhao Yi's strike range, so they had survived, but after being frightened, they instinctively began to flee.

On the ground, wild boars, leopards, wolves, snakes, tigers, squirrels, herds of deer, pheasants, buffaloes, rats, and all manner of animals fled wildly. Predators and prey even ran side by side.

Suddenly, a large number of bubbles descended from the sky and stopped in front of the animals.

Before many animals realized what had happened, their bodies tilted and they fell to the ground, only to be trampled to death by other animals.

Yu Xian had fixed most of the bubbles along the animals' unavoidable escape routes. The principle was like a motorcyclist riding too fast into a steel wire and having his neck sliced open.

Those fallen animals had actually run into the bubbles themselves.

Because the bubbles were fixed at those spatial coordinates, anything not tougher than the bubbles' energy membranes would almost certainly die upon impact.

However, some smaller animals had not collided with those bubbles, so Yu Xian controlled one bubble to continuously dart through them. Rats, snakes, and squirrels all fell one after another, small bloody holes pierced through their bodies as if they had been hit by bullets.

"Salty Fish, your ability... is terrifying," Blue Bird could not help but sigh as she watched hundreds of wild beasts disappear within seconds.

She simulated a battle between herself and Yu Xian in her mind, only to despairingly realize that even if she used every method at her disposal, she probably would not be Yu Xian's match.

These spatial bubbles alone were enough to ensure that Yu Xian remained invincible when fighting her.

Of course, the main reason was that her attacks were still far from Eagle Rank. If she reached Eagle Rank, perhaps she would have a chance to fight Yu Xian.

Below Eagle Rank, unless one possessed a top-tier ability like Pangu's Great Strength Divine Art, fighting Yu Xian was practically suicide.
