Lafitte stood before a weapons shop, the faint smile that always seemed to linger on his face replaced by a rare look of scrutiny utterly at odds with his surroundings.

Rather than a weapons shop, the place before him looked more like a luxury showroom for nobles.

Its enormous glass walls stood out sharply against the gloomy street. Inside the display windows, rows of longswords, spears, and shields had been polished to a gleam, adorned with elaborate gold and silver patterns that glittered beneath the lights with an alluring yet false radiance.

Lafitte knew very well that, aside from his captain's extraordinary interest in excessively beautiful little girls, his captain also enjoyed collecting Devil Fruits and famous blades, whether they could be put to use immediately or not.
