The box was lined with soft red velvet, and a pair of fruits lay quietly on it. They were shaped like two joined hearts, their surfaces covered in spiral patterns.
Hancock did not ask what kind of fruit it was, what powers it granted, or how much it was worth. With absolute trust in Dawn, she picked up one of the fruits and bit into it without the slightest hesitation.
"Ugh..." The notoriously awful taste of a Devil Fruit made her frown, but the powerful will she had developed through years of training kept her going until she had finished both fruits.
Watching her, Dawn felt both touched and amused. He brought out a mirror and held it out to Hancock.
"Take a look."
Hancock took the mirror and examined her reflection carefully in the moonlight.
At first, nothing seemed to have changed. Gradually, however, she noticed that her skin seemed fairer and smoother, and her features had become even more exquisite.
The most obvious change was in her eyes. Her already beautiful blue eyes now seemed to hold stars within them, every shifting glance carrying a mesmerizing allure.
Hancock lowered the mirror and turned to Dawn, her eyes brimming with joy.
"Thank you for the gift. I love it."
Suddenly, she stepped forward, tilted her face up, and stared straight at Dawn as she asked the question that had given countless men headaches.
"Am I beautiful?"
Dawn looked down at her. Moonlight spilled across her delicate face, and her blue eyes reflected the starry sky and... his silhouette.
Her slightly raised chin, her hopeful yet nervous expression, and her undisguised affection formed a picture that could have moved anyone's heart.
"Of course you are. So beautiful I could eat you up."
