Vergo's Death

Vergo took off his military coat, revealing his lean, muscular upper body.

Expressionless, he gripped his signature bamboo staff and walked step by step toward the center of the battlefield. The surrounding chaos had nothing to do with him. There was only one thought in his mind: this was an opportunity.

The position of G-5 Branch base commander had become vacant, and he could use this chance to earn merit and take it.

As for the intruder's strength, he was not worried. His Armament Haki ranked among the best in the entire base, and his mastery of physical combat was even more refined. It gave him tremendous confidence.

As he stepped out of the building, he saw Monet pulling her longsword from a corpse lying across the way. Their gazes met, and invisible sparks seemed to crackle through the air.

Vergo shouted coldly, Armament Haki covering his entire body and the bamboo staff in his hand.

Monet said nothing. She merely spread her bat wings, vanished from where she stood, and appeared before Vergo. Her claws, wrapped in Armament Haki, slashed down with a piercing howl.
