Several minutes passed, and Dawn's brow furrowed slightly. He could feel the pressure on his arms growing greater and greater, his muscles beginning to protest with aching soreness, while the ground could no longer provide enough support.
"It seemed that, with my current pure physical strength, this was as far as I could go. But fortunately, I was still young and in a period of rapid growth. That was my advantage..."
With that thought, a circle of dazzling golden ripples suddenly burst forth from Dawn's palms, which were braced against the ship's hull. Like ripples on water, they instantly spread out and covered the entire contact surface beneath the ship.
A terrifying force crashed down upon the Nostra Castello!
The massive ship was violently overturned by the horrifying downward gravity. Its hull tilted sideways, its outer tracks spun uselessly in the air, and finally, amid an earth-shaking boom and clouds of dust, flying rocks, and splintered wood, the giant beast crashed onto its side, completely losing its ability to move.
"Ahhh—!"
"Help!"
As the pirate ship overturned, Capone Family members fell screaming from the deck like dumplings dropped into a pot.
Most of them slammed heavily into the hard ground or scattered pieces of the ship. Their tendons snapped and bones broke on impact, and wails filled the air as they instantly lost all combat ability.
Amid the billowing dust, a thick section of hull armor was pushed open from within. Capone Bege, whose body had partially transformed into castle walls and barely withstood the impact with their sturdy defense, crawled out in a rather disheveled state.
The moment he raised his head, he saw the blond-haired youth, his hair whipping in the air and his cold gaze locked onto him, tearing through the dust at astonishing speed.
The calm, expressionless look on Dawn's face was more terrifying to Capone Bege than any ferocious visage.
A chill shot from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, but the savagery he had cultivated over years of dominating the West Blue Underworld forced him to suppress the urge to turn and flee immediately.
"What a monster..."
Bege cursed under his breath, a vicious gleam flashing in his eyes.
"I refuse to believe your defense is as freakish as your strength!"
With a thought, countless tiny doors opened across the surface of his body, ripples spreading across them in circles.
Countless figures surged out of those little doors like a tide, passing through the ripples and swiftly returning to normal size.
Within only a few breaths, more than several hundred fully armed Capone Family elite members had appeared on the devastated battlefield, vaguely surrounding Dawn.
Without waiting for Capone Bege's orders, the well-trained mobsters raised their weapons—from old-fashioned flintlock rifles to advanced portable cannons and ferocious machine guns—aimed them at the blond youth in the dust, and pulled the triggers without hesitation.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Rat-a-tat-tat!
Boom!
For a moment, gunfire and cannon fire thundered deafeningly. Countless bullets and shells, like a raging metal storm, instantly blanketed and swallowed Dawn's position.
Flames flashed continuously, and dust from the explosions grew even thicker, completely obscuring him. The surrounding ground was blasted into pits and craters, leaving a complete mess.
The Capone Family members nervously watched the area engulfed by firepower. Seeing no movement within, they could not help but breathe a sigh of relief before bursting into laughter, as though they had survived a disaster.
"He's dead, right?!"
"Served him right for acting so arrogant!"
"No one could survive that kind of firepower!"
However, their laughter abruptly stopped in the next moment, like ducks with their throats clutched shut.
A figure slowly strolled out from the spreading dust.
Dawn still wore the same spotless white shirt and black trousers. Even his dazzling golden hair was not the slightest bit disheveled.
He walked out as leisurely as if taking a stroll through a garden, his cold gaze sweeping over the dumbstruck mobsters around him. The corner of his lips even carried the faintest hint of mockery.
"How is that possible?!"
Capone Bege's eyes nearly popped out as he wildly waved his arms.
"Attack! Keep attacking! Don't stop!"
More subordinates were released from the castle within his body and joined the assault. The barrage became even denser, pouring down on Dawn like a deadly rainstorm.
But it was all futile.
A layer of Gravity Armor, difficult to detect with the naked eye yet undeniably real, enveloped Dawn's body.
The highly compressed gravity field formed an absolute defensive domain around him. The instant bullets or shells touched that domain, they were either crushed by the terrifying gravity.
Ignoring the saturated bombardment that could have destroyed an army, he did not stop walking. Instead, he suddenly accelerated and charged into the dense Capone Family formation like a tiger entering a flock of sheep.
Bang! He threw a punch, and his arm wrapped in gravitational fluctuations smashed a machine-gun-wielding mobster, along with his weapon, into a twisted mixture of metal and flesh.
A hand strike swept past, and another enemy's neck bent at a bizarre angle, the light in his eyes instantly fading.
He stomped the ground, and a small-scale gravitational shockwave spread out from the point of impact, shattering the bones of five or six enemies around him at once and sending them flying backward while vomiting blood.
His martial arts were exquisite and efficient, without a single unnecessary movement. Every strike was accompanied by crisp cracking bones and agonized screams from the brink of death.
Empowered by the Gravity Armor, every one of his attacks carried the crushing effect of gravity, giving his already tremendous strength devastating destructive power. Capone Family members fell in swathes like harvested wheat.
This was not a battle at all. It was a one-sided slaughter.
Watching the forces he had painstakingly amassed prove as fragile as paper before his opponent, Capone Bege was finally terrified beyond measure.
That bizarre defense simply could not be breached, while the opponent's close-combat ability was horrifying beyond belief. If he stayed any longer, only death awaited him!
With a thought, his legs instantly transformed into rotating tank treads. Kicking up dust, he prepared to flee toward the other side of the coast.
"Godfather, go!"
"Stop him!"
The officers Gotti and Vito led a group of diehard followers, their eyes bloodshot as they brandished their weapons and launched a suicidal charge at Dawn, trying to buy time for Capone Bege's escape.
But their actions were no different from a mantis trying to stop a chariot.
Dawn, clad in Gravity Armor, was simply not someone they could stop. He did not even deliberately attack. He merely maintained his charge, and any mobsters who tried to approach him were either crushed directly by the gravity field or casually sent flying by a wave of his hand, their tendons snapping and bones breaking.
In less than a dozen seconds, every obstacle before him had been cleared away. Other than the fleeing Capone Bege, not a single Capone Family member remained alive.
