Fugaku was stunned.
He gripped the edge of the desk with both hands, glaring at Yehuo with bloodshot eyes as he roared through gritted teeth.
"Uchiha Yehuo! Just how many things have you been hiding from me?!"
At that question, Yehuo's expression abruptly changed.
With his swollen, bruised right eye, he slowly raised his head.
He looked at Fugaku, his gaze piercing through the man, through the office, through the roof tiles overhead.
All the way toward the distant, glorious future that belonged to the Uchiha Clan.
Then, in an incredibly low voice that seemed to have seen through all the vicissitudes of the world, he slowly spoke.
"Forgive me, Fugaku."
He paused for a second.
"This is the last time."
The oil lamp's flame suddenly flickered in the office.
Fugaku's pupils sharply contracted.
Forgive me, this is the last time?
What did that mean?
What did he mean by "the last time"?!
Did it mean Yehuo had hidden far, far too much, so much that even he could no longer cover it up, and this would be the last time he concealed anything?
Or did it mean...
He had already made some irreversible decision, and the concealment was merely the tip of the iceberg?!
Combined with the massive hole in the Security Force accounts whose destination could not be traced.
And Yehuo's utterly unrepentant, arrogant attitude even after being "forced to take leave"...
"Hiss..."
Fugaku sucked in a sharp breath as a tearing pain twisted through his chest.
His legs gave out, and he staggered three steps backward in a row. Only when his back slammed against the edge of the desk with a bang did he barely steady himself.
He gasped for breath.
His face turned from ashen to waxy yellow, cold sweat dripping from his temples.
