The third danger was the Earth-Binding Spirits.

These vengeful spirits arose at particular sites within the Ghost-Seeking Enclosure: an ancient tree, a pool of water, perhaps even a small mound beside the road.

They could not leave, but they could warp their surroundings and create illusions, drawing anyone who approached into their "domains" to be tortured to death.

Legend said that deep within the Ghost-Seeking Escape were Earth-Binding Spirits capable of killing Golden Core Cultivators.
