Zhang Shouzhong fights alongside Zhang Ping’s group as its most adaptable equipment-maker. His Fat Technology initially appeared limited because he believed he had to understand the principles behind everything he created. Zhang Ping and Liu Sishan helped him recognize that this interpretation had restricted his own power. 135 136

His ability cannot directly create naturally occurring special materials or items generated purely by supernatural powers, including Contract Gems, King’s Gems, and innate superpower equipment. It can, however, produce technological equipment whose manufacture uses superpowers as tools. This realization led the group to formulate a Superpower Rehabilitation Plan for him. 136

After surviving Zhou Qingbai’s ambush through Zhang Ping’s healing, Zhang Shouzhong joined the counterattack but struggled in the marsh terrain. He later worked with the group to identify the conceptual limits of Fat Technology and begin rebuilding his approach to equipment creation. 126 127 136

As a member of Gui Team, Zhang Shouzhong volunteered to confront Sun Rong during the growing conflict among the Investigation Teams. His ability to hide within the Storage Contract and continuously restore the Alloy Overlord made him an unusually difficult opponent to defeat. 227

When Jia Team challenged Gui Team, Hua Junfu sealed Zhang Shouzhong inside the Storage Contract and nearly defeated him through superior mobility.
