Background

Lin Renmei was imprisoned at nine years old after accidentally killing her father while hugging him. Her uncontrolled strength reduced him to red mist; the resulting shockwave destroyed her home and flattened the surrounding residential complex. She remained incarcerated for twenty years, terrified of hurting others and deliberately using as little force as possible. Even a restrained attempt to defend herself from an abusive guard destroyed the guard and several nearby cells. 376 377

Zhang Ping found her chained in the final cell of an abandoned prison after she protected Fat Cat, Theron, Little Sairon, and Big Yellow. His appraisal revealed her infinite potential and lifespan, while Liu Tiefeng—an Infinite-Tier ability user—had already fled after failing to move her with psychokinesis and earthen constructs. 375 376

Although Zhang Ping could not extract her power, he freed her chains and declared her sentence complete. Lin initially refused freedom out of fear, but accepted his offer to live with the Rescue Team, learn control, and make genuine friends. 376 377
