But before he could act, a missile beat him to it.

In the dark Void, a missile spewing flames was especially conspicuous.

It was as obvious as someone blowing a charge horn through a megaphone for everyone to hear.

Leon swept the missile with his Super Vision.

He found that it contained a large amount of Kryptonite elements, as well as equipment that would release red sunlight upon detonation.

In Superman & Lois, such a missile could only have come from one person.

Leon halted, just in time to see a gray steel suit of armor fly past him.

The other man even turned his head to glance at him.

He seemed surprised that another superhero had come to the Void to save the world at a time like this.

"So it really is Steel John."

In the comics, he was a member of the Justice League.

But in the Superman & Lois series, his origins were rather fascinating.

John came from another universe.

In that universe, his original name was Luthor, and he was bald.

Aside from having dark skin.

He was no different from the Luthors of other DC Universes, and shared an irreconcilable grudge with Superman.

Back in his own universe.

John's wife had been Lois Lane, and they had even had a daughter together. Their family had lived happily.

But Superman destroyed all of that.

Superman had always been the world's guardian.

Until one day, he was controlled by his Kryptonian brother.

He began destroying human civilization in order to rebuild Krypton.
