Under Wong's command.
All the students about to enroll formed a long line in front of him.
Then they followed him into the Kamar-Taj library one by one.
Shafika and Sherry stood at the front of the line.
Other than the magic books displayed on the shelves,
Kamar-Taj's library was no different from most libraries in the world.
There were rows upon rows of tall, long wooden bookcases.
The shelves also carried that distinctive scent of books that had been stored there for years.
Whenever they passed one bookcase, another came into view.
Normally, in a place like this,
aside from people like Shafika, who had grown up in war-torn regions, no one would find it particularly curious.
Yet as they walked through the cramped passageways between the long bookcases,
everyone's curiosity grew stronger and stronger.
They all knew they were going to attend the opening ceremony.
Yet now they were heading deeper into the library.
From the outside, the library looked only twenty or so meters deep. Its interior was already packed with books, so it could not possibly be used to hold an opening ceremony.
Some students thought of the cave in Peach Blossom Spring, where the view suddenly opened up.
They felt that if they kept walking deeper, they might enter a paradise hidden from the world.
Others thought of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter.
They guessed that when they reached the end of the library, the vice principal might tap the third brick from the top with a wand, and the wall would recede like flowing water.
The farther they went, the dimmer the library became.
These areas had been protected by magic to safeguard forbidden books.
Under the faint candlelight, the students could see only the heads of the few people in front of them.
