"Congratulations, Host. Charlotte Roselei's favorability has increased by 20."
"Congratulations, Host. Charlotte Roselei's favorability has increased by 20."
He was just about to break through the major threshold of 100 favorability, and the second gate of his Eight Gates would soon be unlocked as well.
Carl wore a perfect eight-tooth smile, looking utterly refreshed.
He cast Charlotte a grateful look, one filled with admiration and an indescribable emotion.
Of course, if Carl had explained it himself, he would have said he was grateful for the favorability Charlotte had given him. But in Charlotte's eyes, this guy had openly been giving her meaningful looks and expressing his feelings several times already.
Charlotte really could not sit still any longer.
But Yami and Asta were both almost completely drunk by now.
With a loud thud, their foreheads pressed together as they stared each other down.
"You brat, do you know who I am? Black Bulls! I never get drunk—at the very least, no one can drink me under the table!"
Asta roared loudly in response:
"What are you talking about? This juice is so good, I can drink a hundred more cups—no, ten thousand! I'll fight you until dawn!"
Yami's ears ached from Asta's booming voice.
"Fine, then let's compete! Why the hell are you shouting so loud?"
With one slap, he nearly smacked Asta into the table.
The two kept their foreheads pressed together like fighting bulls, then rolled beneath the table together.
[Ding! Host has activated Mission 1: Undefeated Magic Emperor! Use your strengths to attack your opponent's weaknesses. Defeat opponents with special magical talent in the field of drinking to obtain a golden legendary magic attribute. (Repeated victories can increase its quality.) Congratulations, Host. You have obtained the reward: Golden-Quality Attribute: Dark Magic!]
Only the grimoire on the cover quietly shone with light.
Yuno glanced at the two of them, then finally set down his cup. It seemed only reckless fools could do something like this. Yuno certainly could not.
But just after consoling himself like that, he looked at Charlotte beside him, who was still drinking through a straw, and his expression immediately turned somewhat awkward. Of course, Charlotte did not count. A powerhouse like her should not be included.
At this point, Carl and Charlotte were the only ones left drinking.
Carl's actions had long since made Charlotte give up resisting.
Was this a joke?
No matter how quickly she drank through a straw, how could she compare to Carl pouring drink into his stomach by the bucketful?
His lean, powerful abs and perfect physique showed almost no swelling in his stomach. Instead, the scent of alcohol radiating from him, along with those dense fluctuations of magic power, had even eased her curse injuries considerably.
Charlotte looked at Carl beside her, her face flushed red, and said:
"Um... I concede! But that Magic Stone..."
Carl immediately smiled and called over the owner. "Boss, do you think I won this contest?"
The owner looked at Carl as if he were a god.
"In more than thirty years in this business, I've never seen a legend who could drink this much beer. You're practically the reincarnation of the God of Wine!"
"I've decided that from now on, if you come drink here, you'll get fifty percent off!"
Carl burst into laughter. "What if I bring other people with me?"
The owner hesitated for a moment before generously declaring:
"As long as Lord Carl comes to support my establishment, the whole place gets fifty percent off!"
Carl laughed heartily. "Now that's generous!"
Then the owner very knowingly removed the cup of beer from atop the massive barrel. It even seemed slightly chilled. The frost and snowflake mark on the Magic Stone fragment beneath it was extremely clear, and it even emitted waves of magic power.
Carl looked at the beer before him and immediately gulped it down.
Beer soaked with a Magic Stone really did pack more of a punch, and the magical fluctuations within it were stronger as well.
Carl felt as though even his physical body had been nourished.
The Magic Stone was now in his hand.
Yuno and Charlotte, the two who wanted the Magic Stone most, both stared intensely at the Magic Stone in Carl's hand.
Carl revealed a playful smile. It seemed the ownership of this Magic Stone really was worth discussing.
But he instantly activated the system and continuously extracted the magic power within, causing the Magic Stone's glow to rapidly dim. Only when the system prompt sounded within his body did he stop.
"Congratulations, Host. You have unlocked the Eight Gates exclusive skill—Morning Peacock."
Feeling the condensed magical skill fluctuations within his body, Carl's expression finally turned excited.
In his original world, although Morning Peacock was an extremely powerful exclusive skill of the Eight Gates, it was said that one needed to open at least the fourth gate to use it.
But this was not the world of ninjas. This was the world of Four-leaf Clover.
The nourishment of the surrounding mana and the infusion of other magical energies made Carl feel as though his physical qualities had improved by leaps and bounds.
If he was not mistaken, once he opened the second gate of the Eight Gates, the Gate of Healing, he would be able to briefly unleash a Morning Peacock.
But if he wanted to unleash more than one, he would need to raise the Eight Gates to a deeper level, or find something capable of strengthening his physical body.
Recovering himself, Carl looked at the disappointed gazes of the two and smiled faintly.
Then, the excess magic power he had just absorbed instantly burst from his body and completely enveloped Charlotte.
The rich magical light shimmered brilliantly. Anyone who was not blind could see it clearly.
Charlotte was startled at first, then glanced around somewhat shyly.
But when she felt the Rose Curse in her body being rapidly suppressed, only delight remained on her face.
She had no idea how Carl had done it.
But the special, refreshing magical fluctuations emanating from Carl not only rapidly restored her magic power.
She could even sense a peculiar scent within that magic power.
It was a unique force of vitality and blood, impossible to describe and impossible to comprehend. This was the true core of suppressing the curse.
Sol Marron beside them finally opened her hazy, drunken eyes.
Then, when she raised her head, she saw Carl and Charlotte in an intimate position, their magical auras intertwining around them.
Sol Marron immediately leaped up.
"What are you doing? Let go of my sister! You beast!"
A massive stone hammer appeared in Sol Marron's hand, looking as hard as if it had been forged through countless blows.
It was even deadlier than granite or marble.
Earth Creation Magic—Giant's Hammer.
She raised the hammer, nearly smashing it down.
However, Charlotte frantically signaled Sol Marron with her eyes.
Sol Marron's body stiffened, but she still refused to let the matter go.
"You actually made my sister cry! You damned filthy man, you're courting death! Take my hammer!"
As she sprang high into the air, the trembling waves around her—and even her impressive, ample chest—bounced wildly in midair.
Then, the massive hammer smashed straight down.
Charlotte froze, her eyes wide, and tried to stop her.
But her magic power was at a critical stage of recovery, so she could only let out a scream.
"Stop, Sol! He's helping me—!"
Hearing Charlotte's shout, Sol Marron's entire body stiffened.
But she could no longer halt her momentum and could only force the giant stone hammer in her hand to dissipate.
Yet her body still flew directly toward Carl, her two massive breasts shaking earth and sky like eighty-pound hammers as they crashed toward him.
