Rumble—
The ground continued to shake.
Klaus and Yuno had already fallen into a vast space.
However, neither of them looked particularly well.
Because during their advance, an utterly strange mist had begun to flicker around them. The mist seemed to carry many negative effects, such as weakness and paralysis, and in an instant, it completely blocked off their vision.
With Mimosa's scream, Klaus and Yuno lost all trace of Mimosa Vermillion.
They had suffered a setback before even beginning.
It immediately made Klaus restless and irritable.
Yet no matter how the two of them searched, they still could not find Mimosa.
At that moment, Klaus could already sense danger slowly closing in.
But he truly could not accept it.
If they delayed any longer, they would not only fail to find Mimosa, but would also miss out on the benefits within the Elven Ruins, along with other opportunities.
And the arrival of the Black Bulls would certainly pose no small threat to their completion of the mission.
So at that moment, Klaus could only make a desperate gamble.
He turned to Yuno, his expression frighteningly calm, then said to him:
"Put the search for Mimosa aside for now."
"In any case, she specializes in support, and she has healing abilities. Even if she runs into trouble, her life should not be in danger for the time being."
"But when it comes to exploring the Elven Ruins, we of the Golden Dawn must stand out."
"This is both an explanation to Captain William Vangeance and a necessary price to pay."
"Yuno, do you understand what I mean?"
Yuno looked back toward the enormous tunnel they had come through.
Mimosa's figure and voice had completely vanished.
Although he was somewhat worried, upon hearing Klaus's words, he still forcibly steadied his emotions.
Then he nodded and said:
"Senior Klaus, I understand. We will first complete the exploration of the Elven Ruins, then go search for Senior Mimosa."
A rare smile immediately appeared on Klaus's face.
"Very good, Yuno."
"As expected of someone with heaven-defying talent. Your view on this matter is completely in sync with mine."
"I have a bad feeling. This Dungeon Ruins does not seem so simple. There may very well be hidden enemies."
Upon hearing Klaus's words, Yuno immediately became wary.
Just then, an intense glow spread through the air.
Klaus's expression hardened at once, and he and Yuno simultaneously gathered terrifying magic.
In an instant, the magical fluctuations in the air grew stronger and stronger.
Then, a massive gate opened.
Several figures flew out from within.
Klaus's Steel Magic and Yuno's wind magic struck out in an instant.
When someone suddenly charged in from outside, it was hard for Yuno and Klaus not to become hostile.
The two attacks crashed forward.
But what followed was a roar.
"Yuno! What are you doing? You're attacking even me?"
"I'm Asta! Don't tell me you don't recognize me, you bastard?!"
Asta's roar came from the air.
He immediately drew a gigantic sword as large as a door panel from his black-and-red Five-leaf Clover Grimoire.
And with just a single slash, that giant sword blocked both of their attacks.
Klaus's expression became extremely solemn.
Yuno, on the other hand, showed a hint of delight.
"Asta... Asta is here."
When his gaze fell upon the group, he was still somewhat astonished. Aside from Asta, Carl had come as well.
Seeing Carl's calm and unruffled appearance, Yuno's eye twitched.
In his understanding, Carl had always been stronger than Asta.
However, he had not expected even Asta to improve so rapidly.
The previous Asta had not possessed such power or such speed when wielding the Demon-Dweller Sword.
He had not expected that in such a short time, Asta had improved to this extent. A powerful sense of crisis immediately rose in Yuno's heart.
An unhappy expression appeared on Klaus's face.
And when his gaze landed on Carl, seeing the cloaks of the Black Bulls and the Rose Knights, his brow furrowed even deeper.
In his eyes, Carl was simply a heretic.
No one had ever joined two knight squads at the same time. Yet Carl openly violated the rules like this.
Anyone who broke the rules was a heretic in the eyes of an elegant noble.
Thus, Klaus gave Carl almost no pleasant expression.
Carl's expression was naturally not much better at that moment either. He looked around, then looked at Finral beside him.
Finral was no longer like before, when using spatial transportation just once would leave him as limp as a dead dog.
After continuously training along the way, both his magic control and stamina had improved.
So at that moment, he could barely keep himself upright.
Finral said to Carl with an ugly expression:
"Although the teleportation just now was completely accurate, the moment we landed, some strange gray mist around us seemed to interfere with space."
"Senior Vanessa disappeared while resisting that black mist."
"There is something strange about this place."
Carl immediately nodded.
"Yeah."
He had not expected to lose someone the moment they entered.
And the one who had disappeared was Vanessa.
This made Carl even more vigilant.
When he saw the two people before him, Carl immediately frowned.
He looked at Yuno and asked:
"Did the two of you come alone? Golden Dawn only sent you two?"
Klaus frowned from the side.
It was obvious that Carl was leading the Black Bulls.
But in Klaus's eyes, Carl was merely a newcomer.
Klaus believed that, as a senior, Carl did not even show him the most basic respect.
This made him extremely displeased.
Yuno looked up at Klaus, hesitated for a moment, then still said:
"Carl, there were three Golden Dawn members who came to the Elven Ruins together."
"One of our teammates, Mimosa Vermillion, seemed to have encountered some sort of trap after entering the Elven Ruins, and then we lost contact with her."
Carl's brow immediately furrowed tighter.
He was not overly worried about Vanessa's disappearance. After all, he still had a mental connection with Vanessa.
As long as he got a little closer, he could sense Vanessa's location through the phantom image of the Red Thread Cat on the back of his hand.
But now, a member of the Golden Dawn had already gone missing.
If this continued, his mission might be completely screwed.
That was something he absolutely could not accept.
Carl looked seriously at Yuno, his expression grave.
"So how has your search been going?"
Yuno immediately looked somewhat embarrassed.
Then he guiltily glanced at Carl.
"We were just about to continue exploring ahead..."
When Carl saw Yuno's expression, he immediately became a little angry.
Yuno had spent some time together with Asta and Carl.
Carl understood Yuno's expressions to some extent as well.
Yuno's guilty appearance clearly proved that they had not put much thought into seriously figuring out how to find Mimosa.
Carl's gaze sharpened. "The bonds between teammates are the most important thing."
"One of your members has gone missing, yet the two of you are not planning to keep searching. Instead, you want to explore the ruins ahead and claim the benefits?"
