Curse by Unconventional Means

After entering the vineyard, Odys climbed down from the carriage, squatted down, and grabbed a handful of soil to examine it.

The vineyard soil was extremely dry, almost like sand. It could not even be held in his hand, slipping through his fingers.

Odys, still squatting on the ground, said, "Bring me a bucket of water."

Without needing Earl Brandon to give the order, his personal valet immediately went to instruct the vineyard's steward to send someone for water.

Soon, two farmers carried over a large bucket of water.

Odys scooped up a ladleful and splashed it onto the ground. The water quickly seeped in and vanished without a trace.

When Odys squatted down again to grab the soil, it had already become extremely dry once more, like sand slipping through his fingers.

According to Earl Brandon's description, it was not only this ladleful of water. The Mandated Punishers had previously caused it to rain here for an entire day, yet the land had not retained even a single drop.

Odys clapped his hands, stood up, took the staff from Lord Rick, and said to Earl Brandon, "The curse here began more than half a month ago, correct?"

Earl Brandon nodded. "Yes."

Odys replied with an "Mm," then continued, "Then before more than half a month ago, something miraculous and strange must have grown in this vineyard.

"Earl Brandon, please send people to search for it. If we can find that thing, I'm confident I can solve the problem with the soil here."

Earl Brandon asked, "What exactly does it look like?"

"I don't know either," Odys said. "It has no fixed form, but it definitely emits a gentle, pure white light."

Earl Brandon nodded and immediately ordered the steward to search for it.

However, more than half an hour
