The bearded gentleman was none other than the great detective Sherlock Moriarty, also known as Klein.
He discreetly studied the man beside him. The man wore a white shirt under a black vest, and his hair was neatly groomed. Something about him looked familiar.
After thinking it over, recognition dawned on Klein. On the night I purified the Black Spot for Miss Judgment, didn't this gentleman and his wife come into The Tower's bedroom with fresh clothes, food, and drinks for the ladies?
He must be The Tower's butler. What's he doing at the Harvest Church? Does The Tower have some connection to the Church of the Earth Mother?
Hmm... Not necessarily the Church. He might just know someone here and visit often.
At that thought, Klein glanced at Miss Hazel Macht, the priest seated near the front of the prayer hall. He nodded thoughtfully and stopped paying attention to the man beside him.
He waited patiently until the sermon ended, then took hold of his cane and prepared to stand.
Just then, a man in the robes of a Church of the Earth Mother priest entered through the door leading to the rooms behind the church.
He looked twenty-eight or twenty-nine, with black hair, red eyes, a high nose, and thin lips. Handsome but not especially masculine, he was Emlyn White, whom Klein had seen in a dream divination.
Klein's mouth slowly fell open.
Wasn't this fellow supposed to be locked in the basement?
Hadn't he kept shouting that he would stand by his beliefs and never give in to Bishop Utravsky?

As Klein railed at him inwardly, Emlyn White distributed the items for Communion to the believers one by one,
