She was a full six feet tall, with sharp eyes, a resolute face, and a neat crop of short hair that gave her an androgynous beauty. She was Sebolutes, head of the Revolutionary Army Intelligence Department.
Seated at the table were several key members of the Assassination Unit and intelligence agents embedded in Stinnard City.
Beyond them, more than a dozen Transcendents stood or sat around the table in the spacious basement.
Their expressions and gazes carried an air of superiority. Apart from Sebolutes, they clearly thought little of anyone there.
They were Transcendents from the Rune Federation, all exceptionally capable. Even the weakest was Mid Formal Rank, while their two leaders were both Early Legendary. Not long ago, they had slipped into the Void World through covert means, made contact with Sebolutes, and joined the Assassination Unit.
In theory, Void World No. 12 was still in the Lorenzo Kingdom's hands, and the Kingdom had long since ordered the Space-Time Gate closed to the Rune People. Yet Transcendents from Ruen had still walked right in. That showed just how corrupt the Lorenzo Kingdom had become. The nobles and capitalists who controlled passage between the Main World and the Void World would take money from anyone.
