"Ow, that hurts! Is this woman trying to rebel?"

Shankui clearly hadn't expected the women of the Hasa Kingdom to be this fierce.

When the men nearby saw the woman fight back, they weren't about to sit there and take it.

They jumped in and beat up the three men pinning him down.

Shankui stared in horror. How had things taken such a bizarre turn?

Wasn't he supposed to seize the woman and child, then force the man to kneel and apologize?

How had it suddenly gone the other way?

Shankui felt as though he were still dreaming. Maybe he hadn't woken up at all.

He couldn't believe these people still dared to fight back after what had happened that morning. Weren't they afraid of dying?

They were afraid of dying, of course. But they hadn't wanted to put up with this for a long time.

Shankui watched helplessly as the men he had brought were beaten to the ground.

Then the man who had been pinned down moments ago slowly walked toward him.

"Are you two all right?"

The man's first concern was whether his wife and child were hurt.

He didn't care about himself. Though he had watched from the side just now, he still couldn't help worrying about them.

The woman shook her head and tightened her hold on the child.

Only then did the man relax. He pressed his fists together, his knuckles cracking.

"Now then, shouldn't we settle what happened just now?"

Shankui looked around. Everyone still standing was from the Hasa Kingdom. All the men he had brought were down.

He knew he probably couldn't avoid a beating, but he wanted to make one last attempt.
