Robble's eyes all but blazed with fury.
Humiliating. This was utterly humiliating!
Anger, confusion, and bewilderment churned together inside him.
He had no idea where these enemies had come from, why they knew his troops' location, or why they had suddenly attacked.
The only possibility he could think of was Dead Mine Town.

Even an insider from Dead Mine Town couldn't have known they were hiding here!
Just then, the deputy battalion commander entered the command tent and looked at Robble.
"Commander, the casualty report is in. Seventy-eight dead and 243 wounded, including fifty-three critically injured. We don't expect them to survive until dawn."
Robble sucked in a sharp breath.
Hearing those casualty figures made his heart bleed. Every one of them had been a living, breathing person!
Yet all of them had died in just those few short minutes.
"Also..."
"Just say it!"
Robble slumped into his chair and lit a cigarette.
Now, only nicotine could calm him down.
"Also, more than seventy-eight percent of our combat vehicles were destroyed. All our tanks and Assault Gun Vehicles were destroyed. The only vehicles left are Troop Carriers... Both enemy rocket salvos targeted those Special Operations Vehicles as well.
"Their objective was clear: to destroy our firepower for striking fortified positions..."
At that point, both Robble and his deputy understood.
The enemy behind this attack was almost certainly Dead Mine Town.
Given what had happened, the insiders they had bribed had most likely been exposed.
"Have you found out how the enemy managed to get so close?"
"Yes!"
"The enemy scouts are extremely capable. Not only are their infiltration and reconnaissance skills first-rate, but their assassination skills are terrifying too.
