When Shen Xiche reached Shen Jiayan's room, he knocked several times. He stood outside for a while before Shen Jiayan finally dragged himself over to open the door. The moment Shen Jiayan saw who it was, he instinctively tried to shut it.

But he was a step too slow. Shen Xiche slipped into the room. "Shen Jiayan, I brought you milk out of the goodness of my heart. Is this how you treat a brother who cares so much about you?"

Shen Xiche protested his innocence. "I really did just come to bring you milk. Here." He set it on the desk. "Drink up. I need to take the glass back downstairs so I can tell Mom I did my job."

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the worksheets spread across Shen Jiayan's desk and the dense notes written on them. "Not bad. You look motivated. Keep it up."

For once, he wasn't joking. He sounded genuinely encouraging, and Shen Jiayan wasn't used to it. Holding the milk, he eyed Shen Xiche with open suspicion.

Shen Xiche couldn't resist tapping him on the head. "Stop staring and drink. Don't you have worksheets to finish?"

He really hadn't come with any other motive. It was so rare to see Shen Jiayan studying this hard that he'd grown curious and couldn't help coming to take a look. Of course, he knew why Shen Jiayan was working so hard this time: he didn't want to disappoint Luoluo.
