"Any thoughts?"
Zhang Yang smiled at Lin Xiaofei. He had a feeling that if he and Cheng Dongxue moved, she would insist on moving with them. He might never shake her off.
That one question was enough for Lin Xiaofei to believe he really had bought a house at Wolong Villa. She was nowhere near as foolish as Yang Su.
"Um... can I have a room? I'm not picky. You two can decide which one."
So she did have an ulterior motive. She had barely waited before making her request.
Zhang Yang smiled at Cheng Dongxue. She shook her head and smiled back. Her best friend was nothing like him: carefree, blunt, and willing to offend Yang Su just to speak up for what was right.
"You two... is that a yes or a no?"
Their odd smiles gave Lin Xiaofei nothing to go on. Maybe Zhang Yang wanted to finally live alone with Cheng Dongxue, and she was about to be left behind.
"It's just one room. Pick whichever one you like, except the master bedroom."
"Now that's my sister. Otherwise, I'd have disowned you."
There were few secrets between them. What had happened between Zhang Yang and Lin Xiaofei, of course, was still one.
"This place has its charms, though. It's cool and peaceful, there's a dog, and even the air is nice."
Lin Xiaofei leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, savoring the slower pace. She was utterly content.
"Zhang Yang, now that the date for the promotion is set, where should we hold the banquet?"
Cheng Dongxue was delighted. After seeing the villa he had bought, she wanted him to make an appearance again. It was time for him to put his past humiliation behind him, so they could not choose a venue
