Aggressive bidding

Cheng Dongxue and Lin Xiaofei listened, but they were outsiders, after all, and had no idea what any of it meant.

Cheng Dongxue was a complete novice, utterly lost. She could not follow Zhang Yang and Ling Junsheng's conversation, knew nothing about the jadeite market, and was not even good at buying jewelry.

Cheng Dongxue simply felt that she probably could not go wrong by following Zhang Yang's lead.

Lin Xiaofei was a little different. Although she did not understand much either, she had picked things up from her father since childhood, knew the market prices of jadeite, and enjoyed this sort of thrilling gamble.

"Zhang Yang, take me along next time too."

Lin Xiaofei volunteered. This was a rare opportunity. Her family was in the jewelry business, and she might eventually take over her father's role managing the family corporation. There was no harm in preparing early.

"Sure. Xiao Xue will come too."

Zhang Yang agreed. Cheng Dongxue could not spend her whole life working for Zhang Xuanyi, even if her current job at his company was practically a vacation.

But Zhang Yang was not satisfied, and neither was Cheng Dongxue satisfied with what she had achieved so far. She could have a better future.

"Okay."

"Then it's settled, Mr. Zhang. I'll arrange everything else and let you know when the time comes."

With Zhang Yang's agreement, this became a tremendous opportunity: better raw material for less money, and greater profits. No profit-driven businessman would pass up such a promising prospect.

As they spoke, the formally dressed auctioneer took the stage, and the bidding began.

"Rough stone number one. Starting price: five million. Bid increments: five hundred thousand. Bidding starts now."

The auctioneer skipped the small talk and went straight to business.

The stone was brought onto the stage.
