Scared Witless

"The Xu Family. The Xu Family of Gong City. Xu Keming and Xu Mingxian, father and son, put up the money. Fifty million for Zhang Yang's arms and legs, and a hundred million for his life."

Zhang Yang laughed. He turned and glared at Xu Mingxian inside the company. Xu Mingxian promptly went limp and collapsed to the floor with a thud.

Zhang Yang strolled out the door and stopped in front of Lei Hu.

"My limbs are worth over ten million each. Not bad. And my life can fetch a hundred million? Too bad you won't be taking any of it."

Lei Hu stared at Zhang Yang, caught completely off guard. His investigation had missed something. It had only told him Zhang Yang could fight; he had never imagined Zhang Yang wouldn't even need to lift a hand.

"What do you think of my receptionist?"

Zhang Yang watched Lei Hu, who was trembling all over. In his current state, a few punches from anyone passing by might kill him.

"She's formidable."

"Did you ask the Xu Family what happened to the expert they brought in from Kyoto?"

Zhang Yang's words carried a pointed meaning. Lei Hu fell silent. Who exactly was Zhang Yang? Wasn't he the Cheng Family's live-in son-in-law?

Jiao Long had fallen to Zhang Yang and joined him. The killer from Kyoto had probably joined him too. That receptionist had to be her!

The Kyoto killer was the one thing Lei Hu had failed to investigate properly. Now he saw how badly he had misjudged it.

"Boss, let me cripple him!"

Jiao Long was getting impatient. The boss wasn't usually this talkative. Why not just throw Lei Hu off the twelfth floor? Every witness would tell the investigators the same thing: Lei Hu had jumped.
