Morning Light shone harshly through the window. Cheng Dongxue had long since left for work, yet Zhang Yang slept straight through until lunchtime.
He had slept until noon without stirring.
"I've never heard of medicine making you this sleepy."
He scratched his head and sat up.
Smack...
"Woof!"
Turning his head, Zhang Yang found Mibai asleep beside him. He slapped Mibai on the rear, and Mibai sprang up, darted to the floor, and barked at him.
"Mom, I missed work and breakfast. Why didn't you wake me?"
Zhang Yang scratched his head and shuffled downstairs in his slippers, complaining to Liu Mei as he went.
"You think I didn't try? Ask Xiao Xue and Mibai. We took turns trying to wake you, but you never responded! Xiao Xue said you went to bed very late last night."
Hearing his complaint, Liu Mei pretended to look annoyed. Mibai bounded over to her.
"Oh."
Zhang Yang was hungry. Lunch had only just started cooking, so he went looking for something to eat first.
"Have a bite and get to work. Your driver's been waiting outside all morning."
Liu Mei had no intention of letting Zhang Yang stay for lunch. To her, he looked like a young man neglecting his responsibilities. He had finally gotten a company of his own, yet he was still sleeping in.
A brand-new black Mercedes-Benz S-Class: a car fit for a boss.
Clearly, this was Jiao Long's new car. One word from Zhang Yang, and he had been able to pick up a brand-new sedan.
"Boss."
Jiao Long was delighted with his new car. He got out and opened the door for Zhang Yang.
The ride felt entirely different—much more comfortable. Though this car cost far less than Jiao Long's previous one, it hardly looked understated.
