"Good. My dad just needs someone to make a show of backing him up. Your dad won't actually have to put up any money."

Gu Yousi explained, though she doubted Song Jianshe had much money to spare anyway.

Song Chaohua shrugged. "If he gets swindled, he deserves it. That's what he gets for being greedy and rotten!"

Song Jianshe couldn't help sneezing.

He wiped his nose and went back to cutting his steak. Stuffing a bite into his mouth, he tried what he thought was a clever way to fish for information. "Jinshui, you came all the way to the United States to make a fortune, didn't you?"

Gu Jinshui pulled his plate closer, his expression cool. "That's none of your business. Once we finish this meal, we go our separate ways. Follow us again, and I won't be so polite."

He cracked his knuckles and sneered. "I'm the easygoing one. An Yi and An Xin aren't nearly as nice."

Song Jianshe gave an awkward smile.

When he saw Song Chaohua return, he took his anger out on her. "What took you so long? Look how well-behaved their child is, then look at you. You really know how to make trouble for your dad."
