[Remnant Star Society]
This international criminal organization was notorious throughout Solaris, and its capabilities and methods were not to be underestimated.
Human experimentation and modification, taboo in any world?
The organization's leaders could do such things without batting an eye.
To them, turning living people into Artificers—beings caught between Tacet Discords and humans—was as easy as drinking water.
And the Age Lords who guided humanity forward? The Threnodians humanity dreaded?
Even beings with the power of natural disasters were merely tools the organization planned to use, or had already used successfully.
Strangely, even after deceiving the Age Lords, the Threnodians, and almost everyone else,
none of it seemed enough to satisfy them.
To this day, the organization remained active in every corner of Solaris.
Some places had issued bounties or kill orders for its members, but none had produced much in the way of results.
The only high-ranking Remnant Star Society member in custody was Scar, who did nothing but destroy things and refused to yield a scrap of useful information.
Even the professionals interrogating him sometimes wondered:
Was he truly that tight-lipped, or did he genuinely know nothing?
But Scar's capture did not mean the Remnant Star Society was weak.
Its true objective was impossible to pin down, and its next prey was just as hard to predict.
Two things, however, were certain.
Whatever its ultimate goal or its prey along the way, the organization would stop at nothing to reach one and seize the other.
As for the second thing...
There was one particular being whom almost everyone with power in the Remnant Star Society wanted to possess.
This desire was unlike their grand plans and goals, things they hoped to achieve, or "prey" they could easily snatch.
Most members of the Remnant Star Society regarded that being
