Ren eyed the powerful enemy before him warily. He turned his hands over, and two perfectly transparent glass blades formed, their edges gleaming.
"Come on, Thanos," Ren taunted. "Let me see what dirty tricks you've kept hidden all these years while you ruled the stars."
The old monster's face might have been coated in frost. It betrayed nothing.
He raised his right hand, and a dreamlike, glowing cube floated above his palm.
Matter, souls, energy... the Laws governing the entire starfield seemed to flow across its surface.
To hold it was to hold the whole galaxy in his hand.
"A rare treasure indeed," Ren said, unstinting in his praise.
This treasure, known as the Heart of the Universe, was undoubtedly among the greatest artifacts in existence. The Infinity Gauntlet wasn't even worthy of carrying its shoes.
Unfortunately, it was incomplete.
Moments later, the vast power coursing across the crystal's surface withdrew within it. It became an ordinary-looking translucent cube again, resting quietly in that massive palm.
"So this is how far I get," Thanos said coldly. "My grand ambition is destined to go unfulfilled today."
