Darkness Strikes Back, and Chthon Gets Outsmarted!

Ren paid no attention to what Strange was thinking.

He looked at the spell in his hand, thoroughly pleased.

It was a top-tier technique he had pulled from the Darkhold, and its destructive power was off the charts.

Ren flicked his hand.

The black spear in his hand shrieked as it tore through the air, hurtling straight at Chthon.

It swallowed every trace of light around it.

But Chthon, standing opposite him, neither dodged nor flinched. He merely held out a hand.

He caught the spear formed from Black Magic with his bare hand!

Even Ren was slightly surprised.

After all, the thing carried an intensely corrosive power of darkness.

At the sight of that, Chthon burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Darkness Spear?"

"Human sorcerer, you dare attack me with my own magic?"

"Have you got a death wish?"

Chthon's face was full of mockery.

"I see. You must have sneaked a look at the Darkhold."

"Hahahaha!"

Chthon immediately dropped his guard. He was no longer worried at all.

He stared at Ren as though looking at a corpse.

"So what if I've practiced Black Magic?"

Ren's tone was calm.

"So what?"

"Fool. Don't you know you have to pay interest when you borrow a god's power?"

Chthon's voice turned sinister.

"Now all I have to do is move a finger."

"And you'll pay for your stupidity in blood."

Chthon raised a hand and clenched it viciously from afar.

It was as though he meant to rip Ren's soul straight out of his body.

Ren stood where he was and quietly watched the performance.
