A streak of black light tore across the stars.
The spear moved too fast for anyone to react. With a wet thud, it pierced straight through First Firmament's chest.

The space around him shattered.
The spear had pinned First Firmament to the fractured void!
First Firmament was still alive. He flailed his arms and legs, desperate to break free.
Unfortunately, he looked exactly like a green grasshopper skewered on a stick by a mischievous child.
He strained with everything he had, but he could not pull himself free.
Within seconds, the spear began ravenously draining the golden energy from his body.
The light around First Firmament rapidly dimmed as his life force poured away.
Once the old man realized he was finished, he stopped struggling.
"What kind of spell is this?"
First Firmament's voice was weak.
"Darkness Spear. Black Magic."
Ren's tone was flat.
"Magic brought to its absolute peak..."
"How terrifying."
"If I'd known you had a damned move like this, I never would've come looking for trouble."
The old man coughed up blood and gave a bitter smile.

First Firmament suddenly bared his teeth in a grim smile.
"Kill me, and sooner or later you'll regret it!"
"Regret isn't in my vocabulary."
Ren shot back without hesitation.

"You'll regret this for the rest of your life!"
"I sacrifice my soul!"
"I curse you to eternal ruin! I curse the entire universe to reject you!"
As soon as he finished, a blinding crimson light shot skyward.
Strange flames engulfed First Firmament's broken body, reducing him to ash in an instant.
A chilling ripple spread through the stars.
Ren frowned, a mocking look on his face.
