She only showed up when she had a favor to ask of him, and once she had no value to exploit, she could be treated like a stranger.

She did not know when or why she had placed Xiao Ang in such a position... and she even had the nerve to talk about being childhood girlfriends since they were little.

The estate gates opened in the quiet night, emitting a heavy creaking sound. Li Danxin reined in her thoughts and looked up at the figure walking out from between the towering gates—it was not Long Ang.

Longyang held a plum in his hand and took a bite. The sour juice burst between his lips, making him narrow his eyes. "What is the Li family's young miss doing coming to find my brother in the dead of night?"

"Xiaoyang?" Seeing that he was at least a familiar face, she lifted her skirt and stepped onto the stairs. Without noticing the keep-away-from-me look in Longyang's eyes, she blurted out, "Xiaojing and Young Master Zhu have been thrown into prison by Father. I want to find your older brother..."

Before the words "to find a way" could leave her mouth, Longyang used one hand to block her outside the door.
