Having people under him spared Xia Le a great deal of trouble. He only needed to provide essential instruction and keep an eye on things.
Once Xia Le disappeared from sight, Smoker turned to face the three newly arrived Apprentice Marines.

With that, he glanced at Rosinante, who was still unconscious and snoring away.
"Buggy, I'll leave Rosinante to you!"
Buggy waved a hand and hoisted Rosinante onto his back. "Leave him to me!"
"I'll show him just how much we've grown over the years!"
Smoker laughed at that.
He remembered the ordeal he had gone through when he first joined Superior Officer Xia Le's command.
Rosinante certainly hadn't gone easy on him back then.

The next day arrived in the blink of an eye.
At the Training Ground of West Blue Headquarters' G-1 Base,
Doflamingo, Rosinante, Luo, and X Drake stood straight, staring ahead.
Each wore a standard white uniform and Marine cap, with their hands behind their backs.
Xia Le looked at the four of them, who had become convincing Marines after just one day, and nodded in satisfaction.
"Looks like yesterday's brief training has already made you look somewhat like Marines."
"Doflamingo, you surprised me."
"Your dedication to whatever job you're doing is quite reassuring."
Doflamingo's expression did not change, but he was puzzled.
