With a soft chuckle, Xia Le turned and left.

Rob Lucci froze for a moment, then fell silent as he watched him leave.

After a long while, his icy face seemed to thaw, revealing a faint smile. But it vanished almost immediately.

"Heal my injuries first?"

Murmuring to himself, Rob Lucci's eyes flickered, his thoughts unreadable.

This was one of the few moments of warmth he had experienced in his life, even though this unfamiliar superior had said only a single sentence.

As he recalled the past, Lucci's eyes turned cold again.

Throughout his time in CP9, his superior had never offered a single word of concern, treating them only as emotionless tools.

A short while later, Kaku and the others entered, dressed in Marine trainee uniforms.

When they saw Rob Lucci already sitting up, joy and excitement spread across their faces.

"Lucci, you're finally awake!"

"Thank goodness! We thought we wouldn't make it through this!"

"Damn the World Government! They abandoned us without a second thought."

Listening to his companions' concerned voices, Rob Lucci's frozen expression softened once more.

"I'm fine."

"How are you all doing?"

After a slight hesitation, he asked another question.

"How has he been treating you?"

At that, Kaku and the others exchanged glances, then laughed. "Very well!"

"We have plenty of food here, and we train with them every day!"

Jabra lowered his voice. "They're all incredible! I saw those guys practicing the Six Powers, and they're even better at them than we are."

"And a few of them have terrifying presences."

Lucci narrowed his eyes. "They've all mastered the Six Powers?"

"Yes!"
