Learn to Think Outside the Box, and You Can Go Anywhere

It seemed learning Energy Ball was harder than he had imagined. Or perhaps the version refined by Azisa's family was simply more difficult to master.

Fortunately, after three days of practice, Skiploom could now faintly sense Life Energy. The hazy green glow gathering around it was nowhere near as impressive as Gloom's display, but Dian was delighted all the same.

According to Azisa, Energy Ball was more than a move. It was a way to master Life Energy. Once Skiploom learned it, many Grass-type moves would become far easier to grasp—and much more powerful.

Those included Grass Knot, Giga Drain, and Giga Drain. It could even help Skiploom awaken its Egg Move, Grassy Terrain.

The methods for sensing and controlling Life Energy could also be applied to sunlight, improving Synthesis and making Solar Beam easier to learn.

That was why Energy Ball was so difficult to learn.

But once Skiploom mastered it, few Grass-type moves would stand in its way.

And when it came to Pokémon that could wield Life Energy as effortlessly as their own limbs, Celebi certainly came to mind. Dian still remembered the "Thorn World" Celebi had created with Life Energy.

If Skiploom someday reached even a tenth of Celebi's understanding of Life Energy, it could unleash a weaker Pokémon World version of Advent of the Tree Realm.

The foundation for all of that lay in Grass Knot and the use of Life Energy.

Skiploom floated in the air, concentrating on controlling the Life Energy around it. If it relaxed for even a moment, those elusive little wisps would vanish, impossible to catch again.
