Would Trading on His Looks Help?

One of the difficulties in raising Ghost-type Pokémon was the lack of a suitable mentor.

Pokémon Trainers who raised Grass-, Flying-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokémon were fairly common, which meant Dian still had people he could ask for advice. As for Poison-types, he had his own experience raising them.

Only his Misdreavus remained a blind spot. Just as he couldn't sense life energy, he knew emotions existed but couldn't perceive them as a form of power. As a result, he was completely in the dark about how to learn other Ghost-type moves.

That was why, all this time, it wasn't that he didn't want his little lady Misdreavus to learn more Ghost-type moves. He simply had no one to turn to for guidance.

For starters, he knew of some relatively famous Ghost-type Trainers, but they had no connection to him. Why would they teach him how to learn those moves or share the secrets of raising Ghost-type Pokémon?

Was he supposed to trade on his looks? The problem was, even if he was willing to sell, someone else might not be willing to buy.

As for seeking out wild Ghost-type Pokémon, that carried considerable risk. Honestly, a Ghost-type Pokémon as well-behaved as Misdreavus was already a rarity. Really.

He had long suspected that Dragon-, Ghost-, and Psychic-type Pokémon, along with certain Pokémon of other types, would be relatively rare. But even now, he could count the Psychic-type Pokémon he had seen on one hand.

And he had only seen three Ghost-type Pokémon: his Misdreavus, Honedge, and that final Aegislash.

As for Dragon-types, there was only the Altaria he had glimpsed when he first began his journey.

So having a Pokémon with an unusual typing wasn't necessarily a good thing. It also depended on how many moves of its own type
