Chinami pulled the police car over and stared at Dian in shock. "Dian, when did you do it? No, wait, I mean, when did you go to Mt. Silver and commit a crime? And you actually dared to steal a Larvitar and made it out alive? That's incredible. I, Chinami, bow to no one but you. Do you know how many poachers vanished on Mt. Silver last year...?"

Dian rolled his eyes. "Besides, didn't I ask you to check? Everything's fine in the Mt. Silver Protected Area. Nobody committed a crime. This is just a wild Larvitar that wandered out on its own."

That was right. He had to establish that this Larvitar had come from outside Mt. Silver, or he would have another problem on his hands.

"I see."

Chinami took a deep breath and looked at the rare Pokémon, which she was seeing for the first time too. "A Larvitar really is worth all that trouble."

As a member of the Jenny Family, she knew the value of certain Pokémon. Take her Growlithe: apart from the Officer Jenny Family, very few people had one.

And those few were either families wealthy enough to dominate an entire region, powerful League figures, or people famous throughout the world. Wild Growlithe existed, but they were exceedingly rare.

The odds of finding a wild Growlithe were like winning the lottery. Even the Officer Jenny Family could not give one to every member. If Growlithe were that scarce, one could imagine how precious other Pokémon were.

And among the Pokémon of the Johto Region, Tyranitar was the crown jewel.

Chinami soon calmed down. She started the car and accelerated toward the League residence.
