Yue Wu's eyes shone.

She watched the two battling and felt a sudden longing.

Beside her, Tomoya clenched his fists. He took a deep breath and suppressed his excitement. He wanted to battle one of them right now.

Haya watched without blinking. She had come this far by never letting a single chance to grow slip past her.

Even Alina and Rolf had to admit that both battlers were formidable. Even that shameless scoundrel seemed to be the best of the shameless. A man without a face, indeed.

"Poison gas..."

Dian smiled and exchanged a glance with Misdreavus. "Misdreavus, show them your Shadow Sneak."

"Mis!"

Misdreavus watched the poison gas surge toward her, a strange glint flashing through her eyes.

Strands of black shadow gathered rapidly, forming a pair of broad black wings behind her.

Whoosh!

The red orb on Misdreavus's chest flashed. Her huge wings beat rapidly, whipping up gusts that blew the poison gas back.

"That's Shadow Sneak?!"

Yue Wu covered her mouth and stared at the black wings in the arena. "Wow. I didn't know a move could look so beautiful."

And beautiful they were. The wings Misdreavus had formed looked almost real, every feather vividly detailed.

Morty showed no disappointment when the poison gas was dispersed. Instead, a confident smile crossed his face. "Now, Haunter! Use Shadow Claw and Shadow Punch, one after the other!"

That had been his true aim all along. He had known Dian would have a way to deal with the poison gas. It was not that he overestimated his opponent; he simply understood his own strength.

A Trainer capable of raising a Ghost-type Pokémon so well would never be stopped by a simple cloud of poison gas. But any response would create an opening.
