Almia had once been the name of an ancient kingdom: the Almia Kingdom.

But now it existed only in legend. The story of its king and three princes still served as a warning to the people native to this land.

Though the Almia Kingdom had long since vanished, the Royal Family remained and still held an exalted position.

Today, Almia meant this vast expanse of sky and earth, a sacred place where forests and all living things coexisted in harmony: the Almia Region, the heart of the Pokémon Ranger community.

The Ranger Academy and the Pokémon Ranger Union were both here. For every Pokémon Ranger, it was a homeland and a place to return to.

As the Airship descended, Dian could make out the landscape below.

It looked older even than the Johto Region. Greenery was everywhere; even ordinary homes seemed to be covered in a layer of plants.

Pokémon ran freely among the crowds. On closer inspection, most of them appeared to be wild.

The residents took it all in stride, their faces serene.

"Dear passengers, this Airship will soon arrive at Fengrao Town in the Almia Region. Passengers disembarking here, please remain seated until the Airship has come to a complete stop before collecting your luggage. On behalf of the captain and..."

Dian listened to the announcement as he put the Almia Region travel guide back. The Airship was thoughtful enough to replace its guides with an introduction to each destination when it stopped there.

He had looked the region up beforehand, but his research was nowhere near as thorough as the guide published by a local Almia newspaper.

Fengrao Town was an unusual and important town. The Airship's decision to stop here made that clear.

After all, much of the Almia Region was covered in vast forests.
