The Legend Who Managed to Anger a Slakoth

"It's all right now, Mr. Kita."

Anli gave Dian an approving smile, then turned to Kita, who seemed to have relaxed. "Still, you really should work on overcoming your fear of Pokémon. You're Miltank's owner, after all. This simply won't do!

Pokémon can pick up on your fear. When you try to distance yourself from them, they'll gradually start distancing themselves from you, too."

"Haha..."

Kita gave a halfhearted laugh. "I can't help it. Being scratched by a Slakoth when I was little left a really deep scar on me."

After saying that, he thanked them, then turned and left.

Dian looked baffled. A Slakoth? Scratched him?

How could a Slakoth possibly attack someone on its own? Forget attacking—you could walk right past one, and it'd probably treat you like a blade of grass. No, more like thin air. It would completely ignore you.

Anli came over with a sigh, seemingly noticing Dian's confusion. "Apparently, when Mr. Kita was little, he used a Slakoth as a cushion and kept bouncing up and down on it. Eventually, he actually managed to make it furious."

Then she changed the subject. "Dian, well, since I'm free right now, let's go. I'll take you to meet our principal, Mr. Ramo, first, then we'll get your enrollment paperwork sorted out."

Along the way, students occasionally looked at Dian with curiosity, but most of them were fairly young, around Yue Wu's age.

Dian also humbly asked her about quite a few things. He discovered that Anli was usually gentle and patient, practically a different person from the furious woman he had seen earlier.

Soon, the two of them reached the principal's office.

"Principal Ramo is usually in the teaching research office, but since special-admission students like you are arriving today, he's in the principal's office instead."
