A broad river appeared ahead. It was the escape route Scheming Bear had planned for himself.

He was delighted. A lone bridge spanned the wide river, and once he crossed it and tore it down, he could enjoy the fruits of his victory at his leisure.

Everything went just as he had imagined. Teddiursa spotted the danger and chased him with all its strength, but he was still one step ahead.

The bridge collapsed, sealing Scheming Bear's victory.

"Teddi! Teddi!"

Scheming Bear breathed a sigh of relief. Rather than moving away, he sat down on the ground and set his bundle of Sour Berries in front of him.

He gazed smugly at the helpless Teddiursa across the river, feeling thoroughly refreshed.

On the other bank, Teddiursa stared down at the river and let out a deep sigh.

Just then, strands of Black Shadow caught Scheming Bear off guard and wrapped around him. An invisible wave traveled through them, instantly robbing him of consciousness.

Beedrill flew over, picked up the helpless Scheming Bear and the bundle of Sour Berries, and carried them back across.

"Misdreavus!"

Misdreavus happily circled the startled Teddiursa.

"Thanks for the effort, Beedrill."

Dian emerged from the woods with Larvitar. Teddiursa had not been the only one following Scheming Bear; he had been there too.

He noticed Teddiursa licking his right paw and went over to take a look. "Don't worry. I'm not a bad person. Let me see."

"Teddi."

Teddiursa blinked, then obediently held still.

"Is that a burn? No, an electrical injury."

Dian immediately recognized the injury to Teddiursa's right paw. It was a common problem for wild Pokémon that weren't Electric-type when they practiced Electric-type moves.

In other words, its body was gradually trying to adapt to a powerful Electric-type move.
