Bang!
Larvitar's Rock Smash struck Baltoy while it was using Stockpile, sending it flying and interrupting the move.
The blow snapped the stunned Michael back to his senses.
He immediately realized what he needed to do and gave a clear command. "Baltoy, use Gyro Ball!"
"Loo!"
Baltoy steadied itself and began spinning rapidly. A thin layer of silver light gradually appeared across its surface.
Bang!
The Silver Spiral Baltoy had become shattered a stone before it could fall, then kept going, hurtling toward Larvitar as it moved through the air.
Michael and Baltoy had clearly recovered from their surprise and begun to fight back. Their approach was simple: Ancient Power let Larvitar move and attack in midair to some extent, but it could never match the agility of Pokémon that could fly naturally.
Larvitar might have looked comfortable up there, but it was walking a tightrope.
For Michael and Baltoy, that also meant an opportunity—a chance to deal Larvitar a heavy blow.
Whoosh!
The Silver Spiral tore toward Larvitar and the stones in the sky, refusing to give way to anything in its path.
Larvitar did the same. Using the stones beneath its feet as stepping-stones, it darted around and repeatedly met the Silver Spiral with fierce Rock Smashes.
"Yoo..."
Larvitar lost itself in the fight against the Silver Spiral. Its red eyes stayed fixed on its opponent, and gradually, every stray sound seemed to fall away.
The sound of the Sandstorm vanished. So did the sound of stones shattering beneath its feet, and even the sound of its own breathing. In that silent world, only the Silver Spiral remained, along with one thought: Bring it down.
The numbness in its legs and the fatigue it had been holding at bay vanished in an instant—or rather, were temporarily shut out.
