Dian's eyes lit up. Without hesitation, he pulled out his Capture Styler and began the capture. He hadn't expected to actually find a Cacnea that had been near Mirage Tower.
It was a guide worth its weight in gold.
As the white light faded, Cacnea understood what Dian wanted. It nodded to him, apparently unbothered by Beedrill's earlier attack.
And it truly wasn't. There were still Pokémon in this world confused about their identities and troubled by their origins, waiting for it to save them. To rescue those poor lost souls, it needed a generous heart.
Surely that was why it existed. It would gladly help anyone who needed it, and hardship was merely a trial sent by God.
When Dian returned to the oasis with Beedrill and Cacnea, he found Yue Jifei still standing in the moonlight. "Not going to sleep?"
"Mm. I'm going now."
Yue Jifei nodded and went back into the tent.
Dian checked the time. It was already past midnight. He really ought to come back earlier next time.
"Misdreavus?"
Misdreavus poked her head out from behind Cacnea and studied the strange cactus with curiosity.
She tilted her head. She felt as though she'd seen a cactus like this somewhere before. "Misdreavus?"
Still tilting her head, Misdreavus tried to remember.
One look at her told Dian what she was thinking. "The Cacturne that broke the coffin you made? That's what it evolves into."
"Misdreavus."
Misdreavus nodded in realization, rubbed her eyes, and yawned. Then she drifted sleepily above Dian's head and dozed off.
"You should come back and rest too."
Dian took out a Poké Ball and spoke to Beedrill.
