Before, Dian had never quite understood why Trapinch lived in the Hoenn Great Desert. But ever since he had developed sandy crystals, he no longer had any doubts about it.

"Wait, Trapinch gain the Dragon type after evolving, and they apparently have a habit of evolving together."

A sudden flash of inspiration struck Dian. He remembered a Pokémon Preserve that studied Trapinch, somewhere near Izabe Island, close to Sootopolis City in the Hoenn Region.

He pondered for a moment.

Just then, Trapinch suddenly noticed Professor Tenben beside Dian. It bared its sharp teeth threateningly, then slowly backed away and vanished into the deep pit.

"Professor Tenben, let's go."

Dian slowly stood up and looked at Professor Tenben beside him, who seemed to have calmed down.

"Ah! Dian, let's go!"

Professor Tenben immediately nodded, then hurried down the passage to the right.

Neither of them paid any attention to the Pokémon that appeared along the way, nor to the scattered rocks or possible treasures from an ancient civilization.

Soon, a huge boulder blocked their path. Fortunately, a passage wide enough for one person had already been opened through it.

Dian's eyes flickered. He abruptly accelerated and slipped through in an instant under Professor Tenben's startled gaze. "Professor Tenben, I should go first through passages like this. What if there's a trap?"

"Oh, I see."

After passing through herself, Professor Tenben looked grateful.

With Professor Tenben leading the way, Dian then traveled unhindered through the tower. The rocks inside had been broken through, and the collapsed areas had been scouted out. It was practically a leisurely outing.

They only paused once they finally reached the highest floor of the Mirage Tower.

"Dian, the Locator shows that they're just ahead."

Professor Tenben glanced at the Locator in her hand and spoke with certainty.
